It is with immense gratitude that we look back on the last two months of isolation. We never thought that our dependence on the community could bring so many blessings for us. With a lot of our regular sponsors withdrawing due to personal financial constraints, we had to establish an emergency fund to help us through this time. On 21 April we had a media conference where we announced the launch of our emergency fund. I want to thank each and every person who contributed towards this fund. We have not received our government subsidy yet, but we are able to cover all our expenses for this month.

Child Protection Week started on 31 May and we launched our Warm Winter Campaign on 29 May apealing to the community to support us for the winter at hand. The public can contribute towards the protection of children against the cold by supporting our Warm Winter Campaign.

Children’s home needs help with winter clothing and immune support.

Lockdown: Children’s home draws heavily.

We received a lot of food as donations and I want to thank each and every sponsor and farmer for their contribution. We were nominated to receive financial support by Good Morning Angels on Jacaranda FM. They gave us food vouchers to the amount of R50 000.

Thank you for becoming a loyal contributor to Abraham Kriel Children’s Home Nylstroom. Your donation enables us to care for the children and ensure that they are kept safe, warm, healthy and educated during this difficult time.

Thanks to your support we were able to cover all our expenses for May. We are awaiting our subsidy for the first quarter of the new financial year. With your support we trust that we will be able to cover the costs for June as well.
